It seems that D usually updates their software at night so does the R15 have to be off to receive the software update?

No, it doesn't have to in stand by (AKA off). But putting in standby will let the reciever know that it's ok to start the download.

I have to tell you....I'm here in the middle of the country and waiting for this update is driving me mad!
I'm obssessed....constantly 02468-ing. Still nothing.
After 3 R15s, I really want an update!!!!!

It's not even in full release yet, nneptune...it will be sometime this week. You're better off refreshing this forum than 02568-ing your R15 (especially since you flush out all show listings and it needs to rebuild each time.

It'll be on your R15 by this time next week, (almost) guaranteed.

You're right. I'm stopping trying to force the update due to the guide listings refreshing. I'll be patient....
