When I use the remote to turn the tv off it also shuts off the R15, this is a problem because I have the this unit split into rooms.

Is there anyway to program this thing just to turn the TV off and not put the STB in Standby?

Thanks

Have you tried sliding the remote option to TV and hitting the TV-OFF button, or the POWER button (while in TV Mode) ?

What I do is press the "ON" button on the remote. Most TV remotes have just one power button, right? So whether you press ON or OFF, the same signal is being sent to the TV. So, I use ON to turn on the TV and also ON to turn it off.

Gimme5, oddly enough the with the R15 in the living TV off and TV on button doesn't work on that TV. The only thing that works is putting the remote into TV mode. With the other 2 R15 and there TV's the power works in TV mode and TV on and off. Some one said it had something to do with the Panasonice TV that I have in the living room, but if it knows how to turn on/off the TV in TV mode I don't understand why it wouldn't carry over to the TV on/off function.

My TV is also a Panasonic. It is pretty strange, when I put the remote in TV mode, I get a 100% success rate turning my TV on and off. If it's the normal DVR mode, I'd say the success rate to turn it off is about 98% and to turn it on, maybe 60%.

I noticed it works better if I hold the on button for about 1 second (when turning it on) instead of a quick press (quick press works fine to turn it off).

I also never put the DVR in standby mode (I just don't want to, it seemed to cause problems with my first R-15)

I'll have to try that and see if that works. Thanks for the suggestion.

I too have this problem, and to me it is kind of misleading the way the remote is set up. You have these completely seperate buttons to turn the TV on or off - but for other devices like audio equipment you use the slider and select aux1 and use the power button -

It only makes since that the 'extra buttons' for the TV power would ONLY control the TV, but they control both the TV and R15.

I got sooo upset with my wife when she left the house and simply hit the TV Off button and I missed the 1st half of 'Prision Break' a couple of weeks ago.

Yeah, that would suck. Don't have a SL setup for Prison Break?

I'm not sure I understand. If you were recording it, hitting the TV off button should put the R15 into standby and it should continue to record. If you were watching live and not recording how would you miss half the show and not notice? Did I miss something?
