I have an HDTV downstairs and an EDTV upstairs. Which would I get a better picture on the EDTV from: a regular Echostar STB using S-video connection or the 611 using the second tuner via the coax? Trying to decide if it's worth it to run coax from the 611 upstairs.

How far is the EDTV from the 622, cable-wise? I have my living room 508 connected like this:

living room - S-Video
bedroom 1 - 25' composite
bedroom 2 - 50' composite

Coax will have the worst video quality between it, composite, and S-Video.

In my expierence SVideo will give you a better picture over Coax everytime.
