Im wondering if any component video capable receiver/amps out there support the upconvert of a composite or Svideo signal to component. I really want to get back to being able to have my TV being a slave monitor to the receiver through component signal.

Does everyone have to switch the TV and the receiver over and deal with up to 3 remotes?

Also, with regards to remotes:

Of course my DISH remotes are unique, they dont fully control my receiver, nor do they handle multiple receivers.

Does anyone know of a super remote that could combine my Dish remotes (UHF) with all my other devices (learning)?

I use a philips pronto tsu2000 - it currently controls 12 devices, including my home theater computer and my 3 dish receivers. Unless you have model 4000s, or the JVC D-VHS unit, I believe all of the other receivers were IR capable, and as the receivers can be set to different remote addresses, there's no conflict between them.

I have no idea about the receiver question. My Harman Kardon will only output an svideo signal if it has an active svideo signal coming in. I don't have component video with it.

Both McIntosh & Kenwood (Sovereign) A/V receivers convert composite & S-video to component video in order to reduce the need for switching inputs on the display.

I beleive there are a couple of other brands as well that offer this feature on high-end models.
