why would anybody want to pay 2 to 3 hundred dlls to have the right to rent a dvr , when you can rent one from comcast and pay only 10 dlls a month and save yourself 200 to 300 dlls. and no commitment. right now i pay 64 dlls including high speed internet. isn't that amazing.
I'd love to know where you live, because last I saw high speed Internet from Comcast here was at least $30 (promotional, limited time). So for $34 you're getting all that? Really?
Every time I call Comcast and get a quote on what it would cost me to switch from D*, I realize my bill would go up by about $40/mo.

That would be a good question... except that now people can lease the ViP622 from Dish for $99 or less up front (depending upon other qualifications and rebates elligible)... and the Comcast $10 per month for the DVR is more than what Dish asks per month.

The prices vary depending on what market you are in. I live in Oklahoma and Cox Communications is the provider, I had Cox internet, phone and high speed internet...it was costing me about 135 a month..now I have D* (which granted there aren't as many HD channels, but more of a selection of programming and my picture doesn't drop out every hr or so..plus the DVR's are better, and I own them...) HS internet, and phone...I pay less now a month than what I did with it bundled...but I could go back to SW Texas and have the same thing with Cox and it would cost me more..
