View Full Version : 622 dual timer recording? Not!

Can't figure out how to get the tv1 and tv2 tuners to record seperate future (timer) programs that air at the same time. Can the 622 do so? When I start on tv1 and set the timer it sez '2' on the show to be recorded in the guide. When I go to tv2 and set the timer for the same time but for a different show it also sez 2 on the show guide and I get a conflict message. Note: I am in dual mode.

Set both timers from TV1 and let the 622 pick the tuner to use. In dual mode with the priority set properly (I forget the exact option name) it will use the TV2 tuner first. If TV2 is already in use it will use the TV1 sat or OTA tuner for the second timer. You can acutally set three timers if you have OTA channels. 2 sat and 1 OTA.

It seems as if HD can be recorded at the same time with both tv1 tuner and tv2 tuner so it follows that it must be down converted to SD when playing through rear tv2 SD jacks. Is OTA HD (Where available) also recorded in HD but seen in HD only through tv1 through componant or HDMI? thanks for the help my newby questions.

HD is only seen via the HDMI and component outputs of TV1. The OTA tuner can NOT be watched on the TV2 output. But, a recording from the OTA tuner can be. Any HD recording viewed via tv2 is automatically downconverted to 480i.

Sorry Rogueone, but you are wrong. You CAN watch a program from the OTA tuner on TV 2, it just won't be HD. At least in Single mode.
