D* subscribers,

I was wandering, if I get D* with my locals, (my locals are on the main satellite for biggest markets), will I also receive the National feeds for NBC,CBS,ABC and Fox east and west?

I think they are around channel 80 or so..

I am curious. I know how compressed many of these local channels are. However, who really cares if you are just watching the news on them? If D* also offers the national feeds at a high quality uncompressed resolution, then that would solve a lot of the complaints about pic quality on the networks right?

Want to record a DVD of the season of LOST? Well set it to record from the national feed channel.

I seem to remember though, when I was a D* subscriber, that if your locals were offered, the nationals were blacked out. Am I correct?

No, you won't get the distant networks in the 80s, at least with your standard receivers. They are the HD feeds and require a HD receiver to see them. As for the SD network feeds, Federal law now prohibits D* from offering them to anyone if you live in an area where they offer local channels.
