Is it just me ,or is channel changing on E* slower than on D*.
Like the time it takes for the picture to come up when you change channels??
No matter what E* receiver.

I would say YES - E* receivers' channel changing is INDEED slower (somewhat) than D*'s...

(same with Canadian BEV's receivers.. - the same channel changing as E*'s .. as they use the same hardware basically)

I guess that is just the way they are built / designed.. etc

My D-11,is faster,than my DP301.The main reason,I believe is the remote,for the
D-11,RC23,has an ENTER button.Push your channel number,press ENTER,and you
are there. When you use the channel up,and down button, the audio, comes on quick, with the video lagging, just a bit behind. So my answer is Yes.

What does the Enter button have to do with anything? You can do the same thing on DISH Network remotes.

Well,I guess,I'm not looking at my E* remote right then,cause there is'nt any ENTER,button.My in laws,have a DP311,the remote,does not have an ENTER
button.Which E* remote,do you have with an ENTER button?Which receiver does
it control?.My observation is for the DP301,and D-11,and the D-11,is faster.:)

Ah, so you give me a smartass answer. I can do that too. You might be looking at your remote correctly but you are obviously not smart enough to look for a button with the same function but a different name. Try picking up your DISH Network remote, and use your eyes and brain to focus on a button labeled "Select." Now, if you are able to get to this point successfully, try typing in a channel number and then pressing this "Select" button. What happens is pure magic. The "Select" button functions just like an "Enter" button.

I think most of us that want to change our Dish Receiver Channel to, say, Ch-50 simply push 5 & 0. Do you really push 5 & 0 & quickly Select?

You didn't even bother to read the thread. That's not the point. If you had read his other replies, you'd know that. He's arguing that his DIRECTV receiver is faster because he has an ENTER button on his remote. Therefore, he would press 5-0-ENTER on his DIRECTV remote. He's trying to argue that DISH Network remotes do not have that ability. Therefore, I'm informing him that DISH Network remotes have the same ability, but the ENTER button is called SELECT on DISH Network receivers. This has nothing to do with whether you do or do not want to press Select, but whether or not you can. Next time, read the thread before you reply.

Now you told me there is a ENTER button, why did you not just say,E* does'nt
know how to use the word,ENTER,they call it SELECT.Well guess what myD* remote has a ENTER,button, and a SELECT,button.I guess that's why my D* receiver is twice as fast as my E*,receiver.I rest my case.

(garbage)

During the school lesson on contractions and proper use of punctuation, you must have been looking at your remote (it's not "is'nt" and does'nt"). That garbage is just a bunch of incoherent sentences run together.

If you are trying to argue that having both ENTER and SELECT buttons make DIRECTV twice as fast, that's just the absolute most ridiculous argument I've ever heard. Since your arguments make no sense, I'll just ignore your posts henceforth.

I'll translate into your language:

You're quite the little helper. You make the case for this Forum needing a "Add to Buddy NOT List."

know how to spell, well,I hope you do ignore my posts, because, unless you have a
DP301,and a D-11,how can you even have a opinion?Except,to try an pick a fight.
I also missed the part,when I registered,that said,Must know how to spell correctly,to post on this forum.It's amazing,you could read what I wrote.
