I recently cancelled my DishNetwork Service of less than 3months, Too much headache. Now I'm stuck with the equipment that I bought, not leased. Is there anyone that could possibly give me some leads as to where I can get rid of it??
301 Receiver with remote...still got the original box
500(2nos) Dish
1 Switch
I tried calling a local retailer if they could buy it back, but no go.

I tried calling a local retailer if they could buy it back, but no go.Should be worth between $50 & maybe $100 on Ebay. I just sold a 522 for $127 and it is much more equipment than your 301.   Ain't DISH a terrific buy.

Yea, I made sure that everything was squared away and I was owed a couple bucks. I'll buy a round of beers for some buddies when I get the refund in 10days.
Ive had fabulous results from craigslist. So crossing my fingers the equipment will be out of my hair for good :)

Did the retailer install the system? Free-For-All I assume,if so he probably charged you exactually what he paid for the equipment less S/H and nothing for installation. If you deactivated in Three months he was charged back anything Dish payed him in payments,so he has lost enough time and money to buy back a receiver that he can't resale.
We have quit doing anything other than DHA because of this.

How much does it even cost to purchase the equipment?
Is it better leasing or buying?

FFA costs $149(buying the system) DHA cost $49(leasing),if you sign an 18 month agreement under DHA, Dish will refund the $49.
FFA can be up to two tuners($199) while DHA can be up to four(same price).
DHA requires the customer to have a valid credit card, which I used to think was crazy, but now understand that Dish was on the right track with that requirement.
More often that not if a potential customer doesn't have good enough credit to own a credit card they are not good risks for the retailer(reference the original post).
DHA now has a 30 day money back guarantee that is retailer friendly,so DHA is the way to go for both consumers and retailers.
