Mozilla is expected to release a bunch of security fixes and other updates to its Firefox Web browser next week, but it won't be issuing any updates for people still using older versions of Firefox from the 1.0 family (the current and final version is 1.0.8).

The Firefox 1.5 line (current version is 1.5.0.3) includes a feature that automatically downloads and installs the latest security updates.

Veditz said that about a quarter of all Firefox users are still using some version of Firefox 1.0.x, and about a quarter of those folks are not fully up-to-date on patches. ...
