Had my 622 installed on March 9th. Worked great except for some lip sync issues until March 25th, then HDMI stopped working. No video or audio. Was working great evening of March 24 when I was watchin the Mavs game on TNTHD. Although looking back I do remember some minor pixelization issues during the game. Next morning....nothing. Reset/unplugged/swapped cables etc and can't get HDMI back. My TV is a Sony KDFE50A10 and the HDMI is working fine from my DVD player. Other 622 outputs working fine. Called CS and they are shipping me a replacement receiver. Claimed they had no record of this being a known issue. Kinda peeved that I'll loose my recoded content.

If you look around btaintx.. There are a number of threads of people loosing HDMI. It has been described as a software issue and people are awaiting the update to see if it corrects there issue before requesting a swap out.

Ron-
I've been following these threads on all the problems people are experiencing with the 622 HDMI. I know you and others think it is software but if it works sometimes and then fails, I don't see that being software.
Just to refresh memories- The HDTIVO HR10-250 had an HDMI issue as well. It was determined to be a daughter card failure, as in manufacturing defect. Many people were swapping their TIVOs out for one that had the HDMI proplem fixed. Here's what the problem was- The HDMI daughter card plugged into the MB and was backed up with a metal spring clip so that the card wouldn't get pushed back and loose when you pushed in the HDMI cable. I experienced the same problem with mine but decided to pop the cover and take a look. In my case, simply pusing the HDMI daughter card back into it's socket and then properly fixing the spring loaded bracket in place permanently fixed the problem. Many ofn the TIVO Community forum had a similar self fix solution. It seems those Mexicans just were sloppy at putting that part together! I wonder if a quick look inside the 622 possibly would expose a similar simple mechanical problem. I just find the failure of this in the 622 with the way it fails to be a software issue but not having one yet, I am sure I don't have all the facts.

Actually I am not convienced it is a software only issue for the same reasons you indicate. Heck there even could be more than one issue being experienced. However, I don't have a lot of experience with HDMI and how it all works and have not had time to do some troubleshooting on my box to go further in my opinions. I have however heard that Dish has indicated it to be a software issue and so I am going with those thoughts for the time being.
You might well be right Don. Maybe I will have some time this weekend and look a a bit closer at what I am seeing.
