Club Dish program

Has anyone received their phone call from Dish network in regards to when they will be receiving their free 501 PVR?

Yep got the call last Friday evening. (meant to post it to the list but I've been a little busy)

They said I should receive the 501 before the end of the second week of Nov.

My account has already been charged $15 for shipping so I'm crossing my fingers that I will get it soon.

P.S. I had previously been told that if I hadn't received the call by the end of October that I should call in. So I would suggest that if you haven't gotten your call yet, that you give them a call.

Yeah! Its finally here.

I got my "free" 501 yesterday and started setting it up this morning.

Any gotcha's that I should be aware of?

Good to know Dish came through for you. Congrads!!!

When you first plug it in and turn it on, don't mess with it until it's gone through the inital software download. You should get a picture when the d/l is finished - When I first got mine, it took about a half hour to get though that initial step.

Other than that, I don't recall any pitfalls to avoid when setting it up.
