The color TV standard came into being in 1953. By 1963 there were about 6 people in the real world that owned a color TV. Bonanza was the first regular prime time colored program. That program sold more color TVs than any ad program or any other sinle event. Do you think that Discovery HD Theatre will do the same for digital? i for one am in awe:)

It could, but until the Circuit City's, Best Buys and Sears of the world get off their butts and start showing some decent content on some properly adjusted sets AND train their salespeople, Joe Average will not touch them.
If I didn't know better about HDTV, I wouldn't touch them with a 10" pole for the picture the stores are showing and the price tag on them.
As for color TV, I guess I was very fortunate to grow up in L.A. I remember in 1964 when my dad brought home a color set. We were all in awe of Bonanza and Disney's Wonderful World of Color.
Now my daughter, who just turned 6, has known nothing but digital & HDTV. She sits on my lap and says "It's just like looking through a window". She loves Insectia on Discovery HD.

More digital content on PBS would be nice (beyond the loop programs that are shown all day long).
Last night, I watched Battle of Hood and Bismarck which was shown in digital wide screen. It wasn't HD, but the underwater shots of the wrecks of the Hood and Bismarck still were some of the best underwater video I've seen.
