View Full Version : Billing Question/Downgrade Fee Question
Today I got rid of the Supers Pack and the Showtime, Cinemax, and Starz premium movie packages. I noticed that the CSR already removed the programming not too long after the programming was cancelled. Will I still get charged for these packages for the month of July even though I didn't have them for the full month? Or will I be compensated for the fact that I only had them up until July 20th?
Will I get charged the $5 downgrade fee for each of the packages that I got rid of or will I get charged once since all the programming was cancelled at the same time?

depending on your billing cycle but you should get a bit of a prorated deduction for those services since Dish bills a month in advance.
I think you should be charged one $5 downgrade fee, and oly pay for the actual days you had service. If anything else happens call and complain!

You will not get billed $5 for each package but just a one time $5 charge total whether is one package or four or anything in between or above.
If you do not have a minimal programming package there is an extra $5 charge so if you just wanted supers they would charge you 5.99 for supers and $5 minimal charge for a total of $10.99 a month, or if you just wanted the locals it would be the same price, or just a movie package such as Starz, it would be $11.99 + $5 for a total of $16.99 plus your state taxes.

Have supers gone to $5.99 if ordered without locals or distants?

It made no sense for me to keep that package because WWOR and WPIX are already included in my locals package so I was really paying for only 3 channels (KTLA, WSBK, KWGN).
Kevin, can you still get the supers a-la-carte at $1.50/station?
If so, then 3x1.50=4.50, looks like you could get a price cut, since you were effectively paying $4.99 for three stations to begin with.

Thanks Kevin.
I have supers and my locals and it is and always has been $8.99. So when combined with locals there is no increase. And if I read your reply corerectly there isn't one for you either. That wasn'ythe clearest letter in the world.

I'm not sure if you can do that or not, but since I can't find it anywhere on the Dish Network site, I'm guessing that you can't get Supers a-la-carte. I believe the only channel you can purchase a-la-carte these days is PBS.

I ordered WPIX a la carte in April, and I've still got it. $1.50/month gets me a few Mets games and a chance to timeshift WB network programming.
Now if only they'd let me buy PBS national feed. (I can get a suboptimal local PBS station, so I'm not eligible. :-( )
