I ordered the 622 on june 5th upgrading from 942I was told it was 299.00 with 200.00 credited to my bill when i return 942 The csr gave me a appointment of july2 2006 because they have no dp44 available. i have been on the phone with them stating all the talk of new deals ie : no 99.00 installation fee , i was able to get the csr to note my account that when i have the installation done i will get a 99.00 credit i ask for his name and id # so im happy with this ,but I was wondering are people having the same problem with installation dates I need a second dish 500 installed to get sat 61.5 and they said I need a dp44 instead of a dp34

I ordered on May 12th, and got billed $299 that day even though the VIP622 STILL hasn't shipped.

By the way, that is against the law. Dish is trying to circumvent that by applying the $299 charge against my service, but i am strongly of the opinion that in court they would have a hard time justifying that (not like i'm going to sue them over it). To charge somebody for a product they have ordered you have to have already shipped it, or reasonably expect it to ship within ~24 hours. I know this because i have recieved legal counsel on this from regarding some direct to consumer fulfillment my company has contemplated.

Anyway, the install is scheduled for Tues 6/13 and it is probably going to slip even though a supervisor "GUARANTEED" it would be there. Supposedly they are going to overnight it to me tomorrow, but i dont believe them.

Right now i'm just trying to figure out how to properly navigate customer service to get some results. Having a rough time with that so far.

edit: Perhaps was able to get things resolved. They migrated me to the $199 price and my install time is still the same. They had to cancel the previous install and schedule a new one from scratch, but the time opens back up on the installation database and hopefully nobody grabs it from you. Installer is bringing the equipment since they havent shipped it to me yet.

In my Area (Wash DC), I was told that the dp44 are very hard to come by. The installer installed two or three dp34 (cascaded) and had to run two separate lines to the 622, but now I have room for three more receivers in addition to the three I have now. I had Dish 500 and Dish 300 which were upgraded from Legacy to DPs.

I think I read somewhere that if you have the dp44 you do not need to get an extra line which meant for me making hole through my wall. Also, I think the installer said that if you use a dp44 you can keep the Legacy Dishes.

Yes to the single coax, No to the Legacy.
