Does anyone have the announcement or other details about RSN in HD that was announced at the Team Summit?

Does RSN just refer to the fox channels, or are channels like Altitude HD considered part of this group?

David,
Almost all of the RSN's are directly owned by FOX. There are only a couple that are or were not and they are owned by Rainbow Media, Empire Sports was one that wasn't a Fox RSN but they are now gone.

I sent an email to ceo@echostar.com and was surprised to get a call back within hours about this. FSMW televises a select few Cardinals games in HD on Charter, the local cable company in St. Louis. These games show up in the Dish Guide on one of the HD event channels, but the info says that the game is not available in your area. I was told that Dish does not have an agreement to televise these games but that that could be changing, soon. Still doesnt answer the question of why it shows up in the guide if Dish cannot televise the game.

Rainbow owns FSN Bay Area, FSN Chicago and FSN New England. MSG is owed by Cablevision who owns Raindow, but I don't believe MSG is part of the Raindow division.

Those games are part of the MLB Extra Innings package, so if you have that package AND you don't live in the markets of those teams you can watch it. If you do live in one of those markets the local channel has the rights to it and DISH won't let you have it, even if you have the package.

I believe most, if not all, of the HD channels listed on this page are FOX RSN O&O

Does dish carry all 13 of these? When I compare against the multisport pack listed on the dish website, it has 11 of them (there is no split out of North-Minnesota and North-Wisconsin, and no Utah). Might be a start? I know a number of these feeds have been used on the MLB EI HD broadcasts...

Dish carries none of these in HD.
My original question that started this thread was specificly about reports out of the Team Summit that they announced their intention to start carrying some RSN in HD perhaps as soon as this fall. May or may not be Fox sports.

I agree that Dish doesn't have any of these fulltime in HD. I was providing a list of what I believe is Fox O&O RSN stations, as that might be the list of the first group of RSNs to be available in HD.
Do note that games from a number of the Fox RSNs listed in the link have showed up on the MLB EI HD games that dish shows on the HDPPV channel, so it could be an indication that they already have connections established with the Fox O&O RSNs to receive the HD feeds...
Exactly. Dish does carry FSN RSN feeds in HD, but only for the MLB and NHL packages, they seem to have some problem letting the people who's RSN they're using watch it as well. D* uses feeds for their packs but lets the region see their own feed. Seems like something technical that dish could easily fix

That makes a lot more sense than what dish told me (SURPRISE!). The info for out of market games do show that they are part of the Extra Innings package, and the Cardinals games say, not available for viewing in your area.
This topic was briefly discussed last night in the Charlie Chat. Basically Charlie said that channels that show HD 24/7 have top priority and that "something" may be able to be done to only show the games.
