Hi everyone - sorry if this is refried, but I couldn't find anything on the board.

Is it possible to connect a cable from my computer to the R15 to have it change the channels / perform the functions of the remote?

TIA!

Not that I have seen...

It is "possible" with a D11 reciever, but I haven't seen anything like that for the R15 though

Well, STRICTLY speaking, it IS possible. You can hook an IR emitter to your computer and program it to emit the proper remote code, much the same way that Tivo and homebrew PC-based DVRs like MythTV and FreeVo control your cable and satalite boxes:

Yes, you connect one end of the cable to the computer and you connect the other end to the remote sensor on the R15 with sticky tape.

What?

According to this the D11/H20's USB port can be used with a USB to serial adapter to allow channel changing. Maybe someone can try it with an R15 to see if it works as well?

Try this: http://www.USBUIRT.com and get a copy of GIRDER and program away. I use it to control a number of things inside my car (yes, I have a computer in my car). I also use it in my office to change the channels of my SIRIUS Radio from the computer in the shed when I'm working out there.
