I was looking at devices used to test signal strenght and power up a LNBF at the same time. Looking at the install manual for the D1000, it says the LNBF needs at least 450ms. But it has no voltage rating.
Some devices I have seen will put out 12vdc, 13vdc, 16vdc, 18vdc and maybe I missed a few.
Anyone know what the LNBF on the D1000 want to see voltage wise?
Thanks in advance.

Anyone know what the LNBF on the D1000 want to see voltage wise?It wants to see DishPro voltage from the receiver (18V).
I would guess that if there is a meter that measures such things, it would go to 25V or better.
Unless your trying to diagnose a problem, none of this matters.

Thanks for the good info. I was going to buy a Birdog:

But it only has 16Vdc to power a LNBF. Guess it won't work. I will keep looking.
Thank you.

I bought one of those e-cheapo satellite finders for $14 delivered and it worked a lot better than I was expecting. It plugs inline with the receiver and uses the power from the receiver. It doesn't tell you what satellite your pointing at, but that's what a compass is for. It works best if you can hear its tone, but it also has a backlit display.
