View Full Version : RC-23 Remote - 30 Skip but no skip to end?

I hope I don't unleash any fury... Above the play button on my remote, I have a ->I button - I thought this should skip to the end of a program, but it really skips 30 seconds. It shows a little 30 as it skips, or 30 x2 if I hit it twice for a 60 second skip. Is this supposed to happen? Is this new? Is the skip to the end of a program feature gone? So many questions.

Hold the button down for a few seconds to skip to the end.

Yes, it is a feature of the latest software revision.

If DirecTV didn't add the 30 second slip, we'd still be hearing about it this very day on these boards. Heck, there would probably be an entire thread about it.

Unfortunately, DirecTV cannot please over 15 million customers at the same time.

Yes, but they're well on their way to pleasing 15 customers at the same time. :p

Now that's funny! :hurah:

But seriously, I miss the "jump to end" button because, once you jumped to the end, pushing the button again jumped to the beginning of the recording. That was a handy feature that should be restored or added somehow.

Or maybe someone already knows how to do that, too...

To jump to the end just push and hold the 30 Second Slip button.

To jump to the end just push and hold the 30 Second Slip button.
The poster is seeking a way to recover the previous function of the jump-to-end button that enabled jumping to the beginning of a program.

That's right - but without buying another unit. I'm already paying for the R15!

Oh I am sorry I didn't read it correctly. Well for that I would say just hold tight :D

Does everybody's skip to the end feature actually bring you to about 1 minute before the show actually stopped recording?

Yes, that is the way it works.

Except that it takes you to within 30 seconds of the end. Hitting slip one more time brings you to the end and the "delete?" menu.

If I hit "slip" one more time it takes me back to the 30 second before the end mark. I'm using a URC remote programmed from the RC-23, so maybe there's some difference. I dunno...

Hmmm...that's what happens if I hold the slip button at that point, a momentary press slips to the end. I have the standard remote.
