Ok, Ok, it has been asked and asked and asked. But all I find are different answers that sometimes seem to work for some and not others. So I am looking to see if I can get a solid answer for I can not get it to work at a friends home who I finely made the move to HD.

Hardware on hand... Dish 6000, DishPro 1000 with ProPlus Twin LNB and ProPlus LNB, and Pro Adaptor.

Issue....Can see sat 110 and 119 can not see 129.

Receiver reports SW64 switch WITHOUT the pro adaptor in-line and shows only 110 & 119.

Receiver reports Twin 500 switch (or something like that) WITH the pro adaptor in-line and I see 110 & 119 (after a FULL switch check)

So...Their you have it. All I have read is that the adaptor allows the legacy receivers to work with the new DishPro Plus LNB's to get 110, 119, and 129. Yet no go.

Anyone?

Thank you. (I do not use a DBS so I am flying blind and starting to look bad. LOL)

Not sure if this is correct or helps... but I thought I have seen people post in the past that while you can use legacy receivers with the configuration you describe... legacy receivers may not supply enough power to the LNBs.

So you may either need a power inserter OR at least one newer DishPro receiver to supply enough power.

I could be way off-base... but I think I've seen this described/discussed before somewhere around here.

Thanks, but I thought the Pro Adaptor also did that. (one would think, but you never know.)

Don't use DP adaptor for legacy receiver - the DPP LNBFs or/and DPP switches have internal support for it.
Power consuming, that's could be an issue; new DP/DPP devices drain ~700 mA, when legacy - 450 mA.
Power adatper with inserter from SW64 ot DPP44 will help also if there is no DP receiver in the setup.

You would be much better off using a legacy twin for 110/119, a legacy dual lnb for 129, and a cascade with sw21's.

These items are cheap on eBay.

Thanks guys. What a major pain they have made this. Buy a part not even needed because they state you need it only to find it already hs support for it. AUGH! Now I find I still need more power somehow to the LNB's or replace them all together and add in a switch.

The Dish 1000 antenna comes with a DishPro Plus twin LNBF and a DishPro dual LNBF. The instructions in the box say that lone legacy receivers are not supported. They are only supported when a DishPro receiver is connected first. Two potential solutions are add one of the DishPro receivers such as a ViP as the primary receiver and the 6000 as a secondary reciever with out the DishPro adapter. Or swap out the twin LNBF with a standard DishPro (no Plus) LNBF and use a DP34 switch to include the third sat using the DishPro adapter for the 6000. In either case in the check switch menu on the 6000 be sure to check the "full" box in the super dish area so it performs 50 tests instead of the usual 38 tests. This worked for me with my 6000. The sw64 switch indication is normal for the 6000. Another option which is not quite "legal" in that Dish does not recommend it is to use the standard DishProPlus twin LNBF that came with the Dish 1000 antenna and add the DP34 switch. The manual tells you not to do this but it should work as long as there are no dual tuners in your system. In this case you can add the DP34 switch and the 6000 using the DishPro adapter as the only receiver. Remember to use the expanded switch test and it should figure things out. Please let us know if this works for you.

It can, but the DPP Twin's input is disabled unless there is also a DP receiver hooked up.
