prison for doing something that other teenagers across this nation do with each

It wasn't that he had sex, but that he engaged in oral sex - that is what landed him a felony offense. In fact, until about 6 or so years ago, under Georgia law, it was a felony for even husbands and wives to engage in oral sex. Georgia law recognizes sex for procreative purposes only. It is interesting that a 50 year old can rape a 12 year old girl and get her pregnant, but if he then marries her (under Georgia law, there is no minimal age if the woman is pregnant and no need for parental consent if she is pregnant), he is free from all charges, but if two teen-agers engage in consensual heavy petting they face felony charges.
