Short version of my problem

My GF ordered DTV
She then changed the order to the DVR before the install date.
Install shows up with no DVR so they don't install, we call DTV to get a new install date which is the next day. They don't show up, claim there is no install date. Scheduled for the next sat now. They come to install, I show up the next day to find only 1 line is ran to the DVR. I call up, they say next saturday, they will install for free the required 1 line.

Now they are at the house and say it's a custom install job requiring 3 hours and they want to charge my gf 157 dollars.

Mind you, the previous owner had DTV so all they had to do was put the boxes in, and now run 1 line total!!!

DTVs CS has gone down hill, when I fist got my service 4 years ago, they would fix any thing asap, now it's a hassle..

This is either getting done for free, or she's going to Dish... If I only wasn't a nfl fan, I would switch as well.

Call the installation company...

That is one of the downsides of using external installer companies.

They are the ones trying to snooker you for the $150
(Note, the same thing happens with Dish in situations... it is not "exclusive" to DirecTV)

Call DirecTV now... have them talk to the installer company, and get things straight while the guy is there....

I tried and tried and tried and tried and tried! I can't get them on the phone, and DTV is doing nothing. She bought it thru DTV. The contractor is ripping off DTV and DTV doesn't even see it. She is canceling the service today and getting Dish, since the 2nd line is already ran. DTV is so horrible these days, you have to fight and fight and be a jerk, unlike the old days, whereas they would just credit your account. She is getting screwed for 150 bucks for 1 line!!! I'm gonna measure the line later, probably gonna work out to 2 dollars a foot and the install charged 3 hours but was only there 1.5 hours! She paid with a credit card, so either way, she is covered. DTV told me they will give her all her money back including the 150 if she cancels..

THERE IS NO COMMON SENSE AT DTV! Complete morons. Their own company is being ripped off and they don't see it.

I called that office of the president number whichi found on here, they took off the 157 after I told him, i'm on the way over to her house to measure the cable run...
