New one (at least for me).
I was watching Inside This Old House, recorded this morning on 265, A&E. About 25 minutes in to it I get black screen with "poor quality signal" for about 5 seconds. Then it changed to "no signal" for about 30 seconds, then to "Channel 3 'AE East' not authorized." for a second before resuming normally. It was very windy, and I can understand if it loses signal, but the last part is curious. Anyone lese seen this?

This happens on all receivers from time to time. At least I have seen it on all my Dish receivers from time-to-time. If the signal is lost briefly for whatever reason (bird, static interferance, problem at the uplink, whatever...) and then receives a weak signal for a short while just at the time your authorization code is sent to the receiver (this is happening continuously) the receiver may not "get" the code and then displays you do not have authorization until the signal strengthens and you get the "on" code. There's more to it than that, but that is the reader's digest version. :)

See ya

Interesting. I didn't realize that was a continuous process. First time I've seen it in over 2 years with Dish and 6 months with D* though. Thanks Tony.
