Okay. I have 10B8.

I set an SL for reruns of "Lost." ABC shows two episodes back to back currently. Only the first one records, never the second.

I set an SL for "Rescue Me," It records for the first one, but none of the following new episodes.

HOWEVER, I set an SL for "The Closer" and "4400" and it gets them fine.

A few weeks ago, I had set up an SL for reruns of "The Office." NBC ran 4 episodes back to back -- it only recorded the first one. HOWEVER, I had also, at the same time, set an SL for reruns of "My Name is Earl." NBC ran 4 episodes back to back and it recorded all of them.

And yesterday it recorded some show that neither my wife or I set.

I'm going to throw this thing out the window. No updates since April, and it doesn't look like any more are on the horizon. This is a horrible product.

Bad news is, there's a known problem distinguishing first runs and repeats. The good news is they're suposed to be working it.

Yeah. Kind of like the government working on the deficit. I'll believe it when I see it. :)

Have you ever tried to do a manual record of some of your programs? Most of the time, that the best option.

"Rescue Me" works fine on mine. Oh no, now that I posted this it will be doomed.

If you have to do a manual record to get it to work, why do you have a DVR? Even the worst cable DVRs can do manual records. Should DTV subscribers just lay down and take what they give us?

They do seem to think so.

There are reasons to have a DVR besides SL's. Capacity, quality and rewind /fast forward speed vs. video tape for instance. I happily got by for two years without SL's with my Dish DVR. Now that I've had them, though, I wouldn't go back.

You are correct. Coming from years of DTivo experience, I cannot "lower" myself to that level. ;)
