View Full Version : OK, can someone please tell me what happened with my Google Search cached pages?

OK, I feel kinda dumb now....

Probably a week or two ago, I started to notice that when I do a Google search, "Cached" and "Similar Pages" don't show up for each item in my results, only the straight links themselves. In the results list it still has the quote from the page, with search terms bolded, and also the text of the address, but no Cached or Similar Pages. I never use the Similar pages, but ALWAYS used the cached link because I liked to see my search terms highlighted, especially on long pages.

But now these have disappeared from the results of each Google search that I do. The only thing I can think that I did was clear all my cookies and temporary internet files about that same time, but I looked under the Google preferences and there was no option to turn this feature on or off. Rather, in the help, it showed how the cached and similar pages was such a great feature. Only now I can't use it!! :(

What have I done and how can I change it back??? :( I tried a Google search: "google search cached similar", but you can imagine how far that got me! :o

For the record, here is the link from the Google results page for the above search. But I broke it apart, because I wouldn't want to accidentally mess up anyone else's Google searches from now on. But someone tell me if they get the same link to the results page.

That's odd, they show up for me. What browser are you using?

I found that the Google toolbar won't work in XP64 when using IE. I have switched to Firefox and it works fine. You are probably (if you are lucky) not using XP64 though.
