View Full Version : Marker Mess-up

Last night I added a marker to a recorded movie at the three minute mark. I resumed playback. Then I tried to jump to the end of the movie by pressing and holding the 30-second jump button. The timeline on the screen showed my position was at the end of the program, but the image on the screen was frozen at the point where I pressed the button. I tried pressing play, FF, rewind, etc., but the only thing that worked was the stop button. I was able to go back to the program menu (the one you get when you select the program from MyVOD) and start playback again, but never was able to jump to the end and play the last seconds of the program.
The jump-to-end function works fine on other programs without markers.
Can someone reproduce this?

I'll have to experiment a little more to see what happens. As for the recording with the marker, the video also froze at about 32 minutes into the program. The audio continued for a while but then it, too died. So maybe I picked a bad recording in the first place.
Of course, then we have to go back and ask why that recording had a problem... :nono2:

Almost sounds like what happens when you record a program and have a part of it that was during a storm. It acts weird and looks like it isn't FF. Could that have been it?

Yes. and there have been storms daily here. Not sure there was a storm when I was recording this one, but it could have happened. I still have a concern about markers messing up a recording, but I'll check it out more before posting again. For now, let's consider this one a non-issue.

I had an issue with one that I thought the HD was messed up because about 15 mins in it was just back and the counter didn't move. The only way that I got around it was jumping to the end and rewinding to the point or FF over the point. For some reason it didn't like FF or rewinding if it playing at the black point. The FF and Rewind seem to kick it over the blank spot. Then I remember that we had a storm and there was another recording that was the same way. Hopefully that's all it was in you case.

I have had the same experience as you, but this time jumping to the end didn't help.

It could be that the lost of signal is also at the end of the show.
After thinking about it I think that I had to reset my R15 one of the times this happened before it would access the recording correctly. I think it got stuck in the blank area and locked up the R15 so I had to reboot.
