So, the HR10-250 + AT9 + OTA antenna is being installed Saturday. I currently have a pair of coax coming into the house. I believe I need two more runs for a total of six pair, to support the original DVR (DSR6000) and the new HR10-250 w/ OTA. Is that correct? The two DVR's will be in a common location.

Anyone have any pictures or specs on the OTA antenna they'll be bringing? The installation support person had pictures she could look at and describe to me over the phone, but no specs. :D

I'm nervous about the installation. When they installed the current dish they did an OK job, but had I been paying more attention I would've asked that they install it without drilling into the roof. I'm wondering how much more extensive the install is for the AT9 + the OTA antenna and if they can install both the new dish and antenna on end-joists (2" x 6") and remove the old dish leaving my roof leak-free.

Any clues greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I can't help with the roof part, but if they put up an AT9 dish and an OTA antenna, that's a total of five separate cables (4 for the dish, one for the antenna). Although the AT9 is a 5 LNB dish, there are only four cable feeds off of it, not five. Two DVRs are a total of 4 satellite inputs. The four cables from the dish will feed those 4 inputs. Then the one cable from the antenna goes to the HR10-250.

If you expand your number of receivers to need more than four satellite inputs, you would connect all four cables from the dish to a multi-switch and run to your receivers from the outputs of the switch.

By the way, gotta love those DSR6000's!
