I just had this baby put in today and the one question I have the installer didn't answer was: How does this dish perform in bad weather (assuming it is stable) ie. snow heavy rain etc. I had a cover on the multidish that was good for keeping snow and leaves off.

Is there a cover available for the AT9 yet?

Don't know about the cover question, but I've seen it reported here that the AT9 is far less susceptible to weather problems than any other of the D* dishes.

I have mine since January - I have good signal strength - it performs as well if not better than my triple dish did. Because it picks up signals from 5 birds over a wider range of the horizon, I have actually only once lost signal from ALL 5 birds since January during a real heavy thunderstorm last month - that is NOT bad.

I have yet to see how mine responds to snow cover but it far exceeds any other dish I've had for heavy rain.
One question tho.
Did the cover work for wet snow accumulation? I see this as my only signal loss problem in the future:)

The cover was good for snow. I didn't have to clean it off. Loss reception in heavy snow storms as well as rain (18x20 dish).

This is quite promissing for the AT9, though. Did anyone contemplate a heater? What do you all think about that?
