I am brand new here, so be kind!
I have a new R15 and am having trouble getting the Panasonic TV to turn off without it turning of the DVR as well. Unless I slide over the switch up top, and I am trying to make this easy for my wife....
My TV is a PT-60LC14 if that helps....
Any input would be great!

With the remote in the Dtv mode, you should be able to turn just the tv on and off by pressing the "tv power ON" button. It's the top right button.(The same one that you hit to turn both the tv and dvr on.)
Actually, it is supposed to turn off both. When the R15 switches off it goes into 'standby' mode. You WILL want this to happen whenever you are not watching TV.
Being in standby speeds up the updating of the program listing, housekeeping, etc. If left on, (I believe) the R15 has to detect 4 hours of inactivity before doing that kind of stuff.
Don't worry... if you have programs scheduled to record, it will still record them when off.

I agree with the previous posters. The "TV On" button is a toggle switch, just like the button on the front of your TV. Press it once, and your TV turns on. Press it again, and your TV turns off. Etc, etc. The "TV On" button is also an "on [only] switch" for the R15. Press it once, and the R15 turns on (if the R15 was in "standby"). If the R15 is already on, it does not do anything with regard to the R15.
HOWEVER, as a previous poster stated, turning off the R15 doesn't hurt anything because, actually, you are not turning it off, only putting into "standby" (the only way to turn it off is to unplug it). This is OK, and actually a good thing. (See other posts here regarding "housekeeping")
You may see post of folks who say they NEVER put the R15 into standby. This is because some months ago there were occasions when something scheduled to record would not start if the R15 was in standby. It happened to me a few times, but now I ALWAYS put the R15 into standby when I turn off the TV. It has been MONTHS since something I had scheduled to record did not record because the R15 was in standby. There have been at least a few sofware version updates for the R15 over the last 6 months. These occur automatically, without any intervention by you. If you continue to monitor this forum, you will quickly learn about all that stuff.
So, basically, when you are done watching TV, you might as well press the "Off" button (the one just below the "TV On" button), and turn off your TV, and put the R15 into standby.
The OP is having two problems with the TV ON & OFF keys, first its turning off the R15, second it isn't turning off or on the panasonic tv. Nothing can be done about either.

Actually, he didn't specify what keys he was using. That makes it difficult to advise, but I thought TigersFan was on the right track. If not, Mcholley, did you try all the Panasonic codes?

What I got from the OP was that he wanted to leave the R15 on and turn off just the tv. But sliding the switch back and forth gets confusing to his wife(my wife was the same way with our stereo, so now we just leave it on). It's funny how we all can read the same thing and come to different conclusions about what it means. LOL
Its a given fact that the panasonic tv codes don't punch-through the TV ON & OFF commands to the DTV device. I didn't get that from the OP post, I already knew it.

PANASONICS ARE KNOWN to be troubled with the "white remotes".
This is the only way i know for alot of Panasonics(and a few others) IS:
Slide "slider" to TV mode THEN hit CENTER POWER Button (top middle of remote says pwr). This will turn on & off MOST Panasonic tv's when the remote and norm On/off does not work.
Trust me (wink)
