"New" free HDtivo dead

My HR10-250 died this weekend. I only had it 3 weeks. DTV is replacing it within 3 days. I replaced with my old standard receiver on my widescreen TV. I have gotten so spoiled because the picture now really sucks I want my HDtivo back!!!

My HR10-250 died this weekend. I only had it 3 weeks.

Mine died last Friday after having it exactly one week. You could hear the fan running, but not lights in the front (and obviously no picture).

I called them Friday and they said a new one would be shipped out the same day. However, I called today to check on it and it didn't ship.:( However, it shipped this afternoon (Mon) and the Fed Ex tracking says it will be delivered tomorrow.

Well, mine was DOA and it was brand new at that (no signal on SAT 1 which will not let the box do the initial set-up). The refurb has worked perfectly fine and did arrive in two days. At least I got an extra remote out of the deal...

Even if you do have to call them more than once, they usually will get you what you need.
