Anybody else have problems with their UHF remote tearing thru batterings in under a week? The IR remote doesn't have that problem.

Nope, that's not right. The batteries should last for months and months. If you've had to replace them several times after just a week or less ( and you know the batteries were good in the first place), I would call Dish tech support. I had a problem with UHF range with my new 622, turned out to be a bad remote, and they had a replacement on its way to me the next day!

I had the same problem with my 322 I got when I first subscribed to Dish. Talk to Tech support. They sent me a free replacement. Got the replacement in about 2 days.

I had one of those kind of remotes actually (if i recall correctly now) that was "eating Batteries like crazy"..

Not sure now though if it was UHF one or a regular one...

But it was a newer (blue buttons) one .. DISH's receiver remote...

After going through few sets of batteries.. - i became 100 % sure that the remote was defective... and just replaced it with a simular different remote.. - and the problem with "eating batteries like crazy" disappeared :)

I had that and one of the buttons was stuck in the down mode. The tech took it apart at a local TV shop and did clean the pad and ckt board. That did fix mine. But the range has always been bad. Dish said it was where I had the receiver. I had that F xxxxxxxxx Receiver every place you could in the room still the same thing poor range. Finally my tech friend said to put a UHF preamp on the input of the receiver where the antenna plugs into it for the remote. So I did and also put a set of rabit ears on the preamp. Works fine now. Even though the Dish network people made it out to be my problem. This receiver has been bad right out of the box and they would not help me!

Oh, and the TECH FROM DISH NETWORK TREATED ME LIKE SOME DUMB BRAUD ON THE PHONE, LIKE WOMEN CAN'T DO THIS! :nono2:
