View Full Version : Motion Quality on SD Channels

I've read about complaints on HD channels but last night I saw horrible performance on SD channels as well. While the picture didn't break up, the motion stuttered like a bad slow motion sequence. (When one wasn't intended.)
This was on a program recorded from HBO-E yesterday. There were some local SD channels I saw this on live TV too.
Is anyone else seeing this?

Yes, the video jitter happens on both HD and SD channels (and yes, it's being worked on very hard - right now it's either the highest or one of the highest priorities).

Last night (Saturday, July 22) I noticed the "studder" you've described for first time. Good to know it's being worked diligently. Will it require a software update?

My take:
It depends. Some of the studder I have seen I believe is stream related and is mainly on locals. Other studdering I have seen have been receiver based and this would require a 622 update.
I think the studder Mark is referring to would require a software update.

Ron's correct. The really nasty jitter will require a software update to fix.
