OTA revisited

After replacing my HR10-250 4 times in 3 weeks I finally have a working unit. I posted before that I had a multidirectional OTA antenna install and according to the unit I have no signal. But the guide has numberous subchannels. My question is how is the HR10-250 able to incorporate the subchannels in the guide if it isnot getting a signal. According the levels, I have no zero signal..not even a low signal

P.S My HR-250 died and DirectV sent 3 different units that did not work. What's up with that.

I am not an expert but I would guess that you got the list of local channels from the satelite when you entered your zip code.

The list of channels comes from the database at DirecTV.
When you enter your ZipCode, it knows which channels you "should" be able to receive.
