R15-300 update with no phone line?

I have a R15-300. Apparently the unit doesn't need a phoneline to function or do DVR. However, my software version is 103f 10/18/1979 2:47

and no future upgrade.

the forced update doesn't do it for me.

i've been having locking up issues.. was hoping the update might help.

The R15 Does not need to be hooked up to a phone line to update the software. It updates through the satellite.

Sputnik, Don't worry. It's just that the software update is delivered VIA satellite, but your receivers ability to apply it is delivery by Pony Express. Starting in El Segundo CA and working their way east.
