If this has already been covered, please point me to the correct thread.
After watching a recorded program, and selecting stop, I can't delete that program because it say it's still in use.
I actually have to select another program from the program guide. If I then go to my recorded programs, the previously watched selection can then be deleted. Is this normal? With my 921, once I stop the program, it allows me to delete as my next option.
Thanks, Don

I ran into this same thing last night. I had to 'start over', fast forward to the end and remember to hit 'delete' instead of 'done' or 'stop' (I can't remember which). Your method probably would have worked, too. Is this a bug?
I only see this happen when the show runs to the end and you don't immediately choose to delete it. If you don't delete it right then, but do something else and reselect that same item from the list, you can't delete it. You don't have to FF to the end - you can select Start and then hit the Stop button and pick delete. It is running to the end of the show that leaves the item "busy" and undeleteable if you don't address it right then. Picking any other item from the list will free up the item that is busy (if it is "your TVx" that makes it busy) but you can also just select that item and start over. As long as you don't again run to the end (and do nothing), it can be deleted.
I've not noticed it listed as a bug, but it isn't 622 specific (I have a 942).

I don't consider it a bug. If it is running, then you can't delete it. Just like on your computer you can't delete a file that is being used by the operating system. When you are through sith a show just hit FF till it runs to the complete end then click delete.
When you are through sith a show just hit FF till it runs to the complete end then click delete.
There is no need to FF to complete a show to be able to delete it. In fact, doing a FF to the end is a way to CAUSE the problem that wouldn't occur if you didn't FF at all and left the recording short of the ending. Anywhere during the show, you can hit stop and the show isn't busy any longer. You could instead hit View, Recall and watch the previous channel live, ... and the recorded show you were watching isn't busy. The BUG is that if the show goes to the end (any speed) and displays the dialog to View Live, Start Over, Delete, ... it knows the show isn't busy right there at that screen but if you don't immediately delete it, it "becomes busy" and prevents you from doing a delete without you doing something to clear the busy. The bug is the receiver thinking it is busy when neither TV is watching it, and only happens to me when I do run the show to the end (normal or FF).

As long as you don't go away from the individual show back to the list of shows you can delete a show stopped in progress or when frozen at the end. Once you go back to the "My Recordings" list you need to play a piece of the program or get the program off of your screen before deleting it.
It depends on what you do to get back to the My Recordings list that determines whether you will be able to delete the entry when you select it again. You can tell if you are going to be able to delete a recording from the list by looking for the colored triangle on it. That tells you if the receiver thinks it is busy. I'll ignore the still recording or busy on the other TV cases, but you don't have to start it again or select anything different - but that works when it refuses to let you delete it.
Just hit cancel (or View button) to get out of the My Recordings list and then hitting DVR (twice for 622s) to come back to the list that was just displayed should show the item to no longer be "busy" and hence you can delete it.
i.e. in the middle of playing something, hit Stop, then Select on the default Done. That will display the list with a "busy" triange, but if you Cancel and call it back up, you see that it isn't busy now (and can be deleted). The first time the list was displayed, it was busy because it still displayed something from the recording in the corner. If after stopping, you didn't use Select on the Done button (or hit the Cancel button), but instead went to live TV to "get it off the screen", the show isn't busy. Same is true for FF to the end. At the "Playback Over" screen, only "Done" or Cancel button give you a "busy" show. If instead of Done, you cursor to View Live and hit Select, the recording isn't busy. Likewise, if you "stop" a playback by hitting a "View TV" button, the show isn't busy when you display My Recordings. Or so behaveth my 942.
Certainly, starting an item again when it won't let you delete it may be much easier than exiting the list of recordings and calling it back up. But the latter will also let you delete a recording that appears busy when you first display the list. I REALLY miss returning to the same place in the list found on time based DVRs.
