View Full Version : Alignment info.

I'm in the middle of upgrading my Directv Antenna from a 12 year old dual LNB to a new AT-9. What I would like to know is there a place on the web that I can get the alignment parameters.. I know I know. Just hook up the receiver and get them from there, but here again the receiver is 12 YEARS OLD. I'm sure this a simple programs since they include in the firmware.

Ok.. I hooked up a new reciever I got from D* and during set up it doesn't show a 5LNB antenna, it has a 3LNB antenna. I use that and write down my tilt, elevation, and azimuth. I decide to use the zip code they have in the manual and it comes back with a different numbers then what is in the manual

The aiming info for the AT9 is not the same as it is for the 3LNB dish.

The AT9 lines up (centers) on the 101 sat as its pivot point. The 3 LNB I believe centers on the 110 sat.

If you have a new H20 or any of the new MPEG-4 compatible receivers, there should be a way to select the 5 LNB dish.

I've noticed 47 people have looked at this question, but I guess it's too dificult to put a different zip into the h20 to get new parameters.. But not to worry.. I've sent a request to SoildSignal where I bought the AT9 from.

I feel your pain Greg. I'd be glad to help but my HDTV rolled over and died a few weeks ago, 4 years and 9 months into the extended warranty. The replacement won't be here until (hopefully) Sep 1.

I used to not believe in extended warranties, but do now.

Ok, I hope I can put my box to work after this...

The results I got for the AT9 with your zip code are:
- Tilt: 72
- Elevation: 42
- Azimuth: 206

Make sure you follow the fine tune instructions that come with the antenna, including the wooble at the end. They also say that if you mast is not vertical you are @*#&#.

Thanks for the info..
I have the alignment process from SolidSignal and can use these numbers as for the begining.
