HDTV debut coincides with introduction of Meredith Viera

The Today Show will begin broadcasting in High-Definition on September 13, the
same day as the debut of co-host Meredith Viera, formerly of The View on ABC.

Broadcasting & Cable reports that the morning show will broadcast in high-def from
a remodeled studio in New York City's Rockefeller Center.

The Today Show will join ABC's Good Morning America (GMA), which converted to
high-def in the fall of 2005. CBS has not revealed any plans to air its morning
show in HD.

GMA broadcasts in 720p HDTV while the Today Show will be televised in 1080i.

It would be funny if The View went HD. Everything would be crystal clear and then everything will turn fuzzy when Barbara Walters comes on. I don't know how vaseline on the lens comes out in HD.
