I have the same problem. Had a tech out and 2 replaced receivers. DTV says they haven't heard of this problem? Denial

On what receiver model?
If you are referring to the MPEG-4 HD's... There are some area that keying the channel number doesn't take you to the HD version, it takes you to the SD..
DirecTV does know about the issue.... Gman...
Florida is a big area... what set of locals do you receive?

I have that problem here in Minnesota the SD channel is first in line.
Hopefully they correct that in the next update.;)
I have the hr10-250........The problem is that I have set-up my favorite shows to record in high definition. The example will be Prison Break on Monday night. It was set to record of 56.1 (the high def Fox channel). My wife was watching tv prior to that channel whatever. When the box switched to 56.1 it came up as searching for signal and never recorded the show. If I want to record on high def I have to tune to that channel if I'm leaving the house or it won't record. Then if I'm just flipping through the channels I first have to select the SD channel then use the channel up button to watch the HD channel.
So, is this problem known to DirecTV or am I alone with this issue? Any fixes besides a new box?

Anyone? Thoughts......
Do you have an outside TV antenna to pickup the statiopn's digital signal? If not you need to rerun the satellite Only setup to get rid of the searching signal. Then make sure you have selected an MPEG2 HD channel that DirecTV carries. If you have an off-the-air antenna you need to check the signal strength to make sure everything is working. Remember that the HR10-250 does not receive HD locals in any cirties except NY and LA.
I have all the lines hooked up and I'm selecting the correct channel. The antenna strength is in the 90's. Do you think it is a problem with the box?

I have local HD in Orlando . MPEG4 broadcast here is terrible. Major difference between OTA and 103 Sat. I have DTV coming out again to try to fix, but I am sure they wont figure it out. I am returning 2 H20's to them and trying to get a
3rd one to see if that works. Not only do the local hds not come in clearly, it takes about 8-10 seconds of a blank screen before the picture appears after u change the channel...couldn't be more disapointed. If the 3rd rec doesn't work, I am going back to the H10. It worked great, and I will just use my OTA for the local hds.
