Interviewed by Phillip Swann of TVPredictions, Mark Cuban, the co-founder of HDNet

carried by Comcast.

Cuban...says that HDTV will revolutionize television. However, he says many industry
types -- and journalists -- don't understand what Americans really want from HDTV.

In part one of a two part TVPredictions.com interview with Cuban, he reveals which
new HDTV DVD player he would buy; why he thinks Comcast has not added HDNet,
and why he thinks high-def sales are now rising.

One qustion that I would have asked was his feelings on D* downrezing HDNET and HDNet Movies to 1440x1080, instead as he said in his interview "real HD" 1980x1080, and thereby creating a very less than true HD picture.

Cuban has already said in a couple of interviews that while "true HD" is cool... he expects some amount of downconverting and that if he had to choose between not having the channel at all vs slightly reduced resolution (but still higher than SD)... he would choose the reduced resolution to have the channel on-air.

The media will be littered with stories of little old ladies that can't get their favorite church sermons on Sunday morning, or 100 year old men who have been watching their favorite team since the NFL was founded and now they don't know how to do it. That's what the media does.
