Just got the same EMail. I'm in San Diego.

I fear this is a bad sign. If they were about to take orders for this beast, we would have mail telling us to sign up but "be patient" as they work through the logistics of getting these units out.

As it is, this is just another 'teaser' to keep you on the string (translated: wait for us, don't buy it from BestBuy or one of our re-sellers.)

Oh well. In 10 days I'll have nice MPEG4 HD NFL games which I will not be able to record in HD. Great Planning!

I got the same email today, and I am in the L.A. market. In fact, I've had the HR20 now for a week.

This was the update we signed up to get? I still question why Dtv is so tight-lipped about sharing information with its customers. You know like future HD channels, HR 20-700, etc. It seems to me they should have a little bit more respect for their customers than they show. The only time they seem to share information is after the fact.

Future HD channels...
There are none until the additional sats are launched.

Is it a bad sign if I didn't get the email? Does that mean I'm not on the list for some reason? I did get the "you're on the list" email when I first signed up.

Kind of the same question... if I was signed up on the list (which I was), should I have gotten this email?

No, this was for something they signed up with DirecTV for. I signed up with DBSTalk.com, and have yet to receive something from DirecTV.
