Just ordered the HR20 from DTV. Since I've been a customer since the very beginning, they offered the HR20 in 3 payments of $133.00 and a $250.00 credit. So thats a net out of pocket of $149. It didn't take much to get the credit. They weren't sure of the HR20 availability in NY, but after checking they said it was and it will be installed in 2 weeks. :hurah:

I'm thinking you guys may have been in lease agreements. I purchased my HR10-250 outright last year, so there isn't a swap out; that's the reason for the $250.00 credit. My son called DTV as well (he leases) and he can get an even swap; but not right now. They said he would have to wait and didn't tel him how long.
Anyway; I hope you enjoy yours; and let us all know how it all works out.

Yes, it's available in South Florida [West Palm Beach area]. Just got off the phone with D* and mine is going to be installed on 9/9 [with new AT9 dish and multiswitch] at a price of $0 + $19.95 shipping. :)

I had called D*told me that is could not be ordered through them but have to go though Bestbuy.com to order it.

I had bought the DHDTivo before the end of Feb when I had upgraded to HD just before they had offered a lease package. I did have the reciever replaced by them about two mounths ago after it had stopped calling out.

The two departments I was talking to told me that it was yet ready for order through them only through bestbuy.

Keep trying until you get a rep who knows what's going on. I had to speak with 5 reps before someone had a clue. The one rep that I did finally get my order placed with said that information is passed out to them via email and not everyone reads their email.

Same here too, no luck in CT. I have no idea how Vinny and the others are getting it, but 3-4 calls got me nowhere. They can only poing me toward Best Buy for $399, no credits, no deals, no nothing...

I have recently moved and after numerous calls this is the only deal that I received. $100 off the $399 price for the hr20 and new dish and 4 months free hd package. Not great but the csr informed me that she had heard they will be dropping the price to $299 in the not too distant future. She also noted that my $100 will be off the price of the unit at the time. So it could be 100 off the 299. I live in NJ and the csr told me that she thinks it would be available within 2 weeks.

First post. This is a very informative place to be!:)

I was just offered $100 off if I bought it at Best Buy and free installation. After 5 No calls, this was some progress. She also said, if I waited about a week or two, when D* got thier stock in, it would be free. I asked her to kindly note that on my account....

I have made 4 calls to D* to try to order my hr20 and have gotten nowhere. I am frustrated with how D* is handling this. Can someone tell me how and why some people( outside the LA market) are able to order them and others aren't and aren't given a clue when they can?

I have to agree with you as to the way D* is handling this roll-out. From what I've been reading, persistence is the only way of getting what you want. It seems everyone is getting different deals depending on who they talk to at D*. I thought my deal was pretty good, only to find out that in some cases, they are making even swaps. My advice is; just keep on calling.
