We'll we made it through Ernesto here in SE Virginia while receiving nearly 9" of rain (http://www.vabeachweather.com/). I have to admit that during the heaviest down pours, the R-15 held it's own. Of course we lost signal, but there were times when the rain was very heavy and the signal stayed in there.:D

The weird part was that when the signal did drop out, we would get the infamous 'searching for signal' box and other times we would not. One thing I noticed is that when we did NOT get it and the signal just dropped, we were still able to toggle over to the VOD area and watch other recorded stuff. But then again, if the 'box' appeared, we either were locked out of the VOD or one time I was able to get to the VOD area and actually view a recorded show, but the 'box' remained on the screen. It would seem that the appearance of the 'box' is releated to the system hicup.:eek2:

I understand this 'bug' has been reported many times and that D* is working on correcting it. For me this is a showstopper in those cases where you do lose your signal.

Good to hear you made it through. I used to live by Mt. Trashmore, but don't have to worry about huricanes now that I'm in Colorado. :D

Cabanaboy came up with a workaround for the bug. You can do a search for it, but hopefully you won't need it again.

Wow is there a must be a MT. Trashmore in more than one state. We have one in our neck of the woods.

VaJim, if this happens again what you can do is do a red button reset (when you do this you will lose the first half of any shows that are currently recording) when it says searching for sat. signal hit exit on the remote and you'll be able to get into MYVOD and play recordings.
