I signed up for the waiting list in the hr20 review, a few threads above. Got the e-mail today and called. D** csr didn't know how I got the e-mail. She said I wasn't supposed to have it yet in my area. So they honored the ad, since I received it.
I told her when I got the new dish, I wanted a DVR, but it wasn't available for the Mpeg4's yet. She then told me she signed me up for a free hr20, and the install date is set for sept 20th(first available date).
It also took her over 20 min. to set it up. She told me that they have not done these installs much. She talked to the supervisor, came back and said thanks for my patience, here you go free hr20 and install no charge. She never mentioned a contract extension either.

I'm also scheduled for an install in the Chicago area. They are coming on Sept. 16. I was told that Sept. 11 was the earliest date they had available but I needed a Saturday install. My price is also 0 (though I'm guessing I'll be charged for shipping) plus I am swapping my Hughes HD receiver for an H20 at no expense.
I called last week and talked to customer retention to make sure it was noted on my account that I receive the HR20 at no expense. I, like so many others here, purchased the HR10 right when it came out and am an "A" customer. I think if you fit that profile, there is not an issue in receiving the HR20 without a charge (except shipping) but you have to ask for it.

So I assume you purchased your your previous HD DVR rather than leased it and now if you trade that in you won't have to pay the $399 lease on the HR20? Too bad we have to give them our owned equipment. Maybe we could get them to let us keep our owned equipment?

I haven't heard of anybody having to give up their old DVR, even when they were told they would.

They are not taking the HR10. I already told them I would still be using it along with the HR20 and they are okay with that. On the other hand, it did sound like they may take the Hughes receiver that is being replaced by the H20. The word swap was used in connection with that but I really don't care if they take it or not. In the past the installer always left the boxes here. This is my first time leasing.
By the way, I was told there would be a 2 year contract extension.

My new DVR is set for install on the 25th, but the CSR insisted that there were no guarantees that it would be the HR20. They even told me to send the installer away and just reorder if it's the wrong unit. Complete insanity, but I'm getting it all for about $40.
Grrr. Called Cust Retention twice. Said it is not available in my area. Said only test markets are LA, NY, Colorado and Portland, then was told I would be next.
Was told I was a 5R customer.

From other posts that I have read, they are only rolling this out in markets that have MPEG4 locals. Being that you are 80 miles from Chicago, would you qualify to receive the Chicago stations? If so, call back and ask for the HD Installation Dept. (It may just be Installation without the HD... I don't remember).
It may be that you got a CSR who doesn't know what is going on but... you may be outside the perimeter where they are currently doing installs.

You'll have to tell me if they deliver the HR20. The craziness that they would tell me they can't tell me the equipment just made me want to reach trough the phone and smack them.

Yes, I get MPEG4 locals on my H20. I have APEX install mine, just as you (in fact, my Apex installer lives 10 minutes West of me). I live 45 min. south of Rockford. LaSalle Co. is the outer edge for Chicago DMA.
They all say I qualify...it isn't a question of IF i get it, it is "when"...
If I tell them my friends are getting it, they will say "Don't believe everything you read..."

I wonder if they only had a limited number of HR20's available and they've all been reserved. Or... maybe I'll be unpleasantly surprised on the 16th and discover that the installer has the wrong DVR :nono2: .
Oh well, it is just a DVR. Lot's of other things more important. (At least from a female perspective since I don't watch football  ).

I just called to confirm that they are sending a hr20. They also did charge me $19.95 shipping. They are sending the hr20 to Apex in my name.
I just called directv installation . They could not guarantee what DVR I would get. It according to them can only be gotten outside of california in best buy stores.

I contacted them today via email to confirm what hardware they would send, and this is the response that I received:
"Thanks for writing. I understand your concern regarding the installation of your equipment. I want to assure you that our technician will bring the right equipment to install your HR20 DVR."
I will assume that this means it will be an HR20. At no point has anyone even mentioned LA when I've talked to them on the phone, and the only thing ever mentioned was with regards to whether or not they still had the HR10 in inventory. Regardless the HR10 does not match the generic equipment labels in the orders as it is not "Enhanced HD Capable".
"Sigh", I guess I will have to try again. I know that the last guy put notes on my account, so I may be screwed.:nono2:

I tried twice yesterday to get the HR20 and was told both times that Best Buy has an "Exclusive" on it until Sept. 11 and that only after that will Directv be able to offer it to customers.
Also, I have the h10-250 and the hi-def package w/ locals and was originally told two weeks ago that when i did get my h20 it would be free. That changed yesterday and the csr said that no deals were being offered on the h20 yet.
I am tired of the treatment i receive from Directv and would get rid of it but I love Sunday Ticket.
csr...are morons. Told me same thing. CSR has nothing to do with hr20. Talk to installation. Installation says they can set up the installation, but can not guarantee what dvr will be available at that time.

If you look, all of us are not getting it installed until after the 11th. If people want to go pay full price through best buy, let them. They can be first. I don't think any of the people who call D** are getting charged over $100. I think someone was charged $99, myself and a few others were charged $19.95 shipping only.
I think you meant hr20. Call back and ask for customer retention or a supervisor. Tell them they told you it would be free. Heck tell them you know others with install dates, that were charged shipping only.

I tried retention and they seemed perfectly happy to let me go.
I have been with Directv since September of 2000 with Sunday Ticket. When the h10-250 came out I paid $1000.00 for it (I was living in SoCal then) and as soon as the HD locals were added I ordered the receiver for that. My wife missed the DVR so we switched back to the h10-250 and have been waiting patiently for the hr20 to show up so we could have the locals in HD and a functional DVR. I signed up for the VIP list here to get the early notification and when I mention that to Directv they are completely in the dark. I told them that I was seeing install dates in my area for mid September and they guy I was speaking to insisted that there is no way these will be the new HD DVR. It would be great if the people at Directv could get their acts together.
It is very frustrating as a good customer of Directv that they would offer an exclusive thru Best Buy to get the $'s but won't take care of the people who got them where they are today.
Like I said before, if I could watch Sunday Ticket thru Comcast I would have already switched, I have had it with Directv.
I'm sure you will have a nice call from them tomorrow or the next day

I had purchased an HR10 at Best Buy yesterday after I was told no other options existed (I was unaware an HR20 existed at the time). Obviously Best Buy sales guys are not aware of their "exclusive" deal with Directv either! At least at the Carpentersville IL store. Plus the Directv website continues to only show the HR10.
I was EXTREMELY frustated to find out when I took my HR10 home and called to activate it that I needed the 3 or 5 LNB dish and that my HR10 would NOT get local HD channels even though I was repeatedly told that I could get them with the HR10 and no at Directv one mentioned the need to upgrade the dish in numerous calls to them. Only after being switched to Directv tech support to try and get the HR10 activated was I informed of the 5LNB dish requirement and the availability of the HR20 to get the local HD channels!!
Directv CSR told me that she could not sell me an HR20 if she wanted to and that if I went ahead and purchased one at BestBuy (online as no stores show it in stock in all of IL) that she would arrange for the dish upgrade at no charge. That's fine as I was willing to shell out the $399 for the HR-10 but the problem is that Directv can't install the dish now until Oct 2!! CSR claimed she would try to escalate it with local installer but I'm not holding my breath.
I just registered with DBSTalk 5 minutes ago so I could vent my frustration but I spent about 2.5 hours, until 1am last night, reviewing all the posts on the HR20 and want to thank everyone for all the information.
I was frustrated but it sounds like I'll wind up with a better product for the same price (at least until all the complaints begin to surface).

Well, on the 7th call I finally made progress. The CSR, who just happened to be the most friendly CSR I have spoken with, offered me $100 off and $10 off monthly subscription as well as half price HD package. After me trying to explain that I have a friend that is getting it for free (shipping and handling only), she told me that that there used to be a deal that if you Ordered Sunday Ticket you would get the HDDVR for free. Since I was thinking about ordering Sunday Ticket anyway, I bit. She still gave me the $10\month off and HD package for half off. The only bad news was that the next open install date wasn't until 10/2.

I just checked my order for Sept. 16 install. It showed the $99 charge for the H20, $19.95 for shipping & handling and $0 for the HR20. This is what I expected. I was told by the CSR that I would get a credit for the $99. So, I then checked my billing activity and was pleasantly surprised to find not only the credit for $99 but also a credit for $19.95. Now I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that I'll actually receive the HR20 on the 16th.

Looks like you'll be the first of us to get it installed so please let us know what happens. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for both of us as my experiences with the CSRs has been great also. I asked and they delivered, no haggling at all. And... of course that has me worried. The hr20 is now available in store. I had the same problem that you had. When I saw the product was available in Naperville, I cancelled the online order, and will pick it up at the store tomorrow.
It looks like a couple of stores near you have it in stock (my brother lives in Algonquin). Check bb.com for availability.
I wound up saving the $40 for next day shipping.
Good luck.
I have not seen it, but it does show as in stock in Schaumburg, Downers Grove and West Dundee as well....
Not sure I want to pay the Best Buy "premium" though....$399 is a an arse raping...
How r u guys doing this through D*? What are you saying to them??? I tried yesterday to get it and got the same run around - not avaliable in area or only can get thru Best Buy etc...I went through installation and got the same story too.
Also, once you do get someone to acknowledge the HR20 is avaliable in Chicago, how do you then get it for free (or atleast only S&H)?
I have an antenna in the attic and the sporadic pictures on unclear nights (as well as channel 2 all the time) is killing me and I don't want to pluck down $100 to mount it on the roof....Any help is greatly appreciated!!!!

It is not uncommon for DirecTV to offer a credit to someone that purchased it retail, to get the cost down to what others are receiving directly from DirecTV

I am waiting patiently for now until next week to see if they come thru. I already have the 5 lnb dish and just need the new box but my biggest concern is that they are going to try to get me for the $399 after telling those of us who paid 1k for the hr10-250 that they would swap it out for free. I called at 9 AM on 9/2. The Best Buy email went out the evening before. It seems that those of us who called early on 9/2 got installation appts. So, I wonder if there were only a limited number of boxes available through Directv and they got reserved right away.

Went through retention and was offered two deals: the first offer was $19.95 S&H, but I was affraid they would show up with the wrong DVR (H10) so I asked about what they would offer if I purchased it at Best Buy: Offer two was $250 instant rebate applied to account, $10 off my bill for one year, $10 off HBO for 6 mos. and $5 off my HD bill for 6 mos ($460 in deals vs. $430 in cost to purchase).
I decided to go to Best Buy just to be sure I get the HR20 instead off waiting all day on the 13th and having the guy show up with the wrong one. Picked it up at the Downers Grove store and installed it myself (already have the 5lnb).
When I called to activate it, retention just scheduled installation to run a second line to the HR20 and cancelled my order for the 13th.
Surprisingly it went very smooth.
I have 3 Tivo receivers in my house and really like the ease of using them, it will take me sometime to get used to Directv version.

How do you guys get these deals? I just called retention twice with no avail. My best deal was $100 off. The second CSR I spoke to was so insistent that there were no deals for trading in the HR10 and if I picked up the HR20 at Best Buy, I would have to pay for the install!!!!
I told her that I was upset and would consider canceling and she was more than willing to help me do that.
Now I'm really considering trying Dish, but I would definitely miss my NFLST.
OK, I have tried 4 times now. I have not heard of any deals for Chi-town yet.
I had one lady, Janeen, (not real confident), say that she could give me one for 499 (yes FOUR 99) and then I would get a rebate for 100.00, which of course would take 6-8 weeks to get that back. I said that was way too steep, and she never confirmed that it was for chicago. She just kept going over features of the new box when I would ask a direct question. I didn't put any faith into her.
I guess I will wait until next week to try.
Oh, BTW, last guy I talked too said that he heard a rumor that their may be a delay in getting the new ones out after 9/11 because of possible shortage issues. He said that I may want to wait.

Sorry, but I received a really bad install from Apex.
They did our previous two installs. The first one was awesome. The second one was so-so. The guy was arguing about where I wanted the dish installed. He did it the way I told him to though, but I was annoyed that I had to argue with him to get him to do it the simple way (which frankly is better as the dish is sheltered from most wind and weather and has proven more reliable than ever).
My biggest issue with this upcoming install is more of a question of availability of equipment. If their installer gives me grief I can send him on his merry way and tell him to leave me the equipment. I'll do the install myself, but would prefer someone else to do it.
I think all these companies have some questionable people in the field. Apex fields about 60 installers every day so it's a bit of a gamble on whether you get the good ones.
Out of curiousity, what did they do that was so bad during your install??

When I saw the weather this morning, I was wondering if they would be able to do the install anyway. I know my roof is rather steep and I am not sure I would be comfortable with someone climbing around on it when it is wet.
What a bummer though. I hate when I am looking forward to something and it gets cancelled at the last minute. :(
Per your advice, I've been meaning to call Apex last week to confirm my HR20 but I got busy. I think I will do that this week because it seems awfully convenient that the tech had an emergency (okay... I may not be the most trusting person).

What e-mail?? The one about the hr20 being available in your area??

If my HR10-250 woke up dead this morning I wonder which model D* would send as a replacement?

If my HR10-250 woke up dead this morning I wonder which model D* would send as a replacement?
That's funny because my HR10's drive crashed yesterday (ON THE NFL SEASON OPENER OF ALL DAYS!!!).
I called tech support, and they said that they are sending my a replacement HD DVR. He couldn't guarantee which one it would be (HR10 or HR20) since the workorder didn't specify which one, but it will be here in 2 business days. He said in the event I do get an HR10, there will be an exchange program to upgrade to the HR20, but he didn't have any details yet.
I just called Retention, Spoke to a SUPER NICE Laura. She was very funny and a pleasure to talk to. I also was very nice in return.
She said best she could do was $200.00 off the $399 price. I said that was still too steep.
I said that when I received my HR10, I was told that I would get the HD Locals (true story), so I called and complained after I got it. They sent me the H20 to help, but I could only put it in the kitchen and that doesn't help watch HD locals in my Living room where I am mostly. She asked me why I don't watch HD Food channels in the kitchen, ha!
She said max offer was $250 off the 399. I said "hmmm...is there any credits to help offset the remaining $150? She said she could do $10 off bill for next 12 months.
Net Cost is $30.00, I said "OK, if I have too". She laughed. She had to go to her supervisor to get the $10/12mo deal, but it went through.
BTW, she had worked there for 2.5 years in Idaho, was leaving company to move to Delaware. There is no call center there. I told her that company will miss a nice positive person like her. I asked for her supervisor to give Laura the a "good survey" for the outstanding effor she provided.:D :D :D :D
Now I am happy.

Just got off the phone with retention. New HR20 will be installed Friday:) . I'm only paying shipping:) :) I'm gonna need a lot of help. This is my first DVR.
If my HR10-250 woke up dead this morning I wonder which model D* would send as a replacement?
I can answer that question because my HR10 died hard on Saturday. Hard Drive was fine, but it would refused to boot. I'm guessing the HD controller on the MB died...
This HR10 is 2 years and 2 months old, and already had a hard drive get replaced in it due to death (all hail PTV).
So I call D* on Sunday, 9/10, and work my way up up to 2nd level tech support. A supervisor comes on the phone and says, "Because you are an 'A-List' customer...we will send you out a replacement HR-10 for $20 shipping".
I pressed the supervisor hard to send me out an HR-20, and she flat-out refused...saying that the HR-20 was not yet available in Chicago, and that she was only authorized to send out HR-10s as replacements.
She did indicate that I could call back "sometime later this fall" to upgrade to the HR-20.
Nothing I could say or do would change her mind, and I didn't feel like playing supervisor roulette since I was getting a replacement HR-10 for $20.
So, their tech support organization definitely has different information from retention.
Thoughts? I'm not particularly complaining since I will be getting 6.3 software, and I do have the NY HD Locals from snagging them way back when they were first available.

I checked on D*'s website this morning, to see if I could upgrade the HR20, and when I clicked the link to "Upgrade Your Equipment", I saw this message:
"We don't have any online offers for you right now,
but please call 1-888-355-7530 for offers that are right for you."
I called that number, and just completed my order for an HR20. I paid $299 (split across my next 3 D* bills), plus $19.95 S/H; one of conditions of this deal was a new 2-year commitment. I asked the CSR if that was the best price they could give me, given my standing as a customer (customer since 2004, NFL ST the first year, local channels, HD package with HD locals, 3 receivers, 1 a TiVo DVR, 1 a D* DVR, and HBO), and he said $299 was the best price he could give me.
I told the CSR that I already have the Ka/Ku band AT9 dish, so I don't need an installer to come out, I just need the receiver shipped to me. The CSR said, however, that his system would not allow him to just ship it to me -- he needed to schedule an installer appointment, and the first one he could get me was OCTOBER 5TH! I grudgingly accepted, figuring I would hunt online, and if I could find another website that would ship it to me, I would just cancel my D* order.
That's my story thus far; I'll keep you all posted.

just ordered a HR20 from D*. I called retention (800-824-9081)and asked what the best deal they could give me if I signed up for another 2 years. She told me it was $299 for the HR20 and she could give me $250 in credit. Get the normal HD package free for 4 months and free install. Even got the install date scheduled for 9/20 in the am. All for a total of $49!
Just ordered via phone....took two calls but got a guy that new his stuff...
I am not a HD Tivo owner, so did not expect much in terms of deals...but was able to negotiate $100 in credits to accomodate the return of the non DVR HD box...
And get this, install date of 9/18!!! Not too shabby....I an in Bartlett, IL....

Just had mine installed today and love it so far. It is hooked up to a Sony kf42we610 Rear proj LCD. Man thats a big dish. Totally free and also got HD package 4 mos free, HBO 6 mos for $2, Showtime 6 mos free, Starz 3 mos free. Already have ST and have already gotten SF for free. I have been with DTV for over 10yrs. Don't know if that makes a difference or not. I live in central IL.

I have an update from my post earlier. On a whim, I called around to some of the Best Buys in my area, and lo and behold, one of them had 3 HR20s available. I had them hold it for me, and picked it up after work for $299.
I installed it successfully tonight, and it is now busy downloading the programming guide. When I called D* to activate the receiver, I also had them cancel the Oct. 6th tech install appointment.
So far, so good; now if I can just get the Harmony 880 working with it...

I saw a guy buying one at BB in Rockford today. they still had 4-5 on the shelf

It was a refurb HR10:mad: !
The CSR I spoke to said that there will be an exchange program for the HR10's in the near future, but of course he had no details. The best I could get from him was $99 for the exchange.

Here's the deal I just got last night. Some of you might be in the same situation so hopefully it will help someone:
I bought an HR-250 a couple months ago thinking I was going to be able to record my locals in Hi Def....Not in Chicago!! So I called D* that day and complained that I was never informed of this, no salesman said anything, no sticker on the box etc.
After working my way through multiple CSR's and numerous disconnects I finally called the D* Presidents office and I received a free H20 receiver and an AT9 dish including installation to tide me over until the HR20's were released. D* also noted on my account that I would definitely receive a free HR20 (swapped for my HR250) as soon as they were available in Chicago. I told the retention guy that a free HR20 would make me :)
After seeing the HR20's listed on EBAY and the local Best Buy web site I called D* a couple days ago and asked when my HR20 was being shipped. The CSR told me couldn't be sure but probably late fall, HUH? Well I don't like to wait for anything so I bought one last night at Best Buy for $299. While activating the box over the phone I said "It's noted in my account that I should be getting a free HR20 so maybe we can use some account credits to cover the cost?". The CSR talked to a supervisor for a few minutes and like magic I had a $300 credit on my account. The best part is that I get to keep my HR250!! Now I can record 4 shows at one time....I feel my arse getting wider already.
That is practically the same route I took. I didn't have to go to Office of Pres. though. I did pay $30 in total for the HR20 box. OK by me. I got the HR10, H20 and HR20 all for $30 since July! :hurah: :D :hurah: :D

I got the HR20 & H20 installed today. It did not go real smooth but wasn't horrible either. When we first installed the HR20, the video cut out before we could even do the setup. The installer said I hadn't hooked it up correctly (I hooked up the receivers while he installed the dish). While we were arguing about the fact that he did not need to pull my TV out from the wall to check its outputs, the box just shut itself off. I guess he decided I knew what I was doing (esp. since I just unplugged the HR10 and put the HR20 in it's place). He got out another HR20 and it worked just fine.
Of course, then Directv switched the card numbers while trying to activate both boxes so that took awhile to get fixed. Now everything is fine.
By the way, I checked with the installer to make sure he had the HR20 & not the HR10 when he got here. He didn't have either... he had to call his brother to bring the HR20 over. He also said Apex will be no more after February but did not go into details about who was taking over.

Here's the deal I finally got:
Offered free swapout if I was willing to wait until 10/10 for Directv install or $250 credit with enough free programming to make up the difference if I went out and bought it myself at Best Buy. Joliet had 3 in stock, the first one was a dud but got the second one up and running and got my credits so at last I have the box and am happy about that.
I will post more in the appropriate are; the box almost immediately downloaded the software upgrade but I am having some technical issues. At least I finally have a DVR and Hi Def locals!

They(apex) got bought out. Tech said they didn't want to deal with D** anymore. Charge too much, pay them too little and didn't want to deal with phone lines anymore. I forgot who bought them.
I also just got my hr20 installed. Took a while, the locals where not availible for a while. But they finally got them.
Got my HR20 installed today. Got to play with it only for a while, as the wife is having some meeting at our house tonight. Hope she gets it done soon!!!

Long time reader first time poster.
I ordered my HR20 and AT9 dish on 9/19, was given an install date of 10/16
I have the HR10-250 along with 2 other older tivo dvr's, therefore a multiswitch.
I am wondering if other people near where I live (Cary, far NW burbs) got the new multiswitch with their install, or do I need to call D* to make sure it gets put on the work order.
I've seen some posts on people calling their installer to make sure they will be bringing everything that is required, but where are they getting that information from? the work order does not show who the installer is.

I have my install on 10/6, and I told the CSR to SPECIFICALLY add the the zinwell WB68 switch to my workorder. I live in Gilberts (FAR FAR NW burbs), so I think we'll have the same installer.
I'll let you know if it was necessary to add it to the workorder after my install date.

Called D*. CSR said they cannot update the work order to put the multiswitch on.
Said I would have to call the installer and have them put it onto the work order.
They gave me a 1-888# and told me the installer is APEX.

Now I think I'm getting screwed by D*.
I'm a current HR10 owner and the best offer I can get is the $99 offer for the HR20. After about a month of trying to get it for free, I bit and they are charging me $123 and some change for the shipping and tax.
Now, I called to confirm the order and I find out that I HAVE to send in my HR10! WTF?!? I was told that I could keep it when I originally placed the order, and the CSR said I have to send it back since they're giving me "such a great deal".
I want to cancel DirecTV now. I told them that it's totally unfair that they their deals vary from customer to customer and I'm really dissatisfied with how they dealt with me.
Well, my appointment for Apex installation was supposed to be today between 1-5 p.m. I took a half day of vacation time, and I waited. At 3:30 the guy called and said they were "overbooked." He gave me the next available day of 10/24--nearly a MONTH from now. I asked for someone in charge, and got another guy. I said, "I don't care if you're late or how late you are, but it needs to be today."
After some hemming and hawing, he finally admitted they had NO HD-DVRs in inventory, which was the real reason he couldn't come. "I've been making these calls all day," he said.
He swore he'd call me Monday to update on the "new shipment's" arrival, and he swore he'd get me in ASAP after that, not 10/24, but we'll see about that. I am not optimistic.
Called DirecTV next, and they gave me--gasp--$20 credit. I said, "Twenty bucks for missing half a day of work?" but that was it.
Nice, huh?
Stupid question: I've never had HD programming before. Will I get my locals in HD w/the new dish, or will I need something more, or will I need to wait??
Thanks.
Yes, you will get your locals via the new HR20 once installed. Sorry to hear about this incident. YOu are not alone. I see people all across here who are out of luck.

Thanks for the reply.
Anyone happen to have contact information for Apex in the western Chicago suburbs? Either I wrote the number down wrong or the guy gave me a bogus number...
I was supposed to get a call yesterday, he swore, to set up the next possible date. He gave me 10/24, nearly a month from my original date, "only to hold a spot," but said it absolutely would be before then. Somehow I'm not so optimistic... :nono2:
Edit: I finally reached an actual human in the local office (called D*, who gave me the dispatch number, who patched me through to the local office). Supposedly I'm now set for 10/10, a week from today. We'll see.

Great stuff in here! I live in the northern part of Hoffman and ordered two of the HR20's. I got the first one for $99 and the second for $19.95 (it's a long story). I've had absolutely no luck with any OTA's, so I'm hoping that these new receivers will solve all my troubles for getting ALL the locals in HD. But then again, who knows if they will show up on time? I've also been told that there are two new satellites going up that will clear up the near-HD picture that some stations have been broadcasting and that all that claim HD will actually be showing clear HD telecasts. Any comments?
I see I'm not the only person having problems with Apex !!!came out today to install my new HR20 and new dish with 5 LNB, only had no mounts on his truck for the 5 LNB dishes WTF said apex didn't put it on the order that a mount was needed?? had to make new appt. now set for 10/27 was going to be 11/6 at first.
Apex knows the new Dishes don't fit in the old mounts so did they think he could hang it with bubblegum and duct tape !!!! only bright side I called DTV got $100 credit so the HR20 is free if it ever get installed that is

That's ridiculous they'd expect you to wait over three additional weeks just because they didn't bring the right equipment. I'd be calling them directly (which is what I did) to get an early date (got mine moved a little, from 10/25 to 10/12). Good luck...
