3D HDTV Doesn't Need Special Specs to See 3D effects
Washington, D.C., Sept. 2, 2006 -- Like your High-Definition TV? Well, what if the high-def
images were in 3D?
That out of this world scenario is actually now on display -- albeit out of this country.
Broadcasting & Cable magazine reports that the Holland Casino in Breda, about 60 miles
from next week's IBC tech conference in Amsterdam, has a 42-inch 3D HDTV on display.
The set, which was developed by Philips, is entertaining guests (and presumably more than
a few conference attendees) with 3D images of gaming action.
Unlike most 3D displays, the 'WOWvx' TV does not require glasses to see the special 3D
effects. The TV uses advanced signal-processing and a special lens technology. ...
