I was watching a recorded show of Most Haunted and it came up with a message that said the hard drive was full please delete programs. I went in and deleted some older shows.
The 622 then rebooted on its own.
The question I have is can the 622 automatically delete older shows for me without asking me what to delete? I thought it was setup to do that.
Second question is, why in the heck would I get a message like that when I was watching an already recorded program?
Help! :D

As long as there are unprotected events it will auto delete, however I believe (it's been a while since I've filled my hard drive) when it is full or almost full it will give you that alert to give you a chance to clean it up yourself.
Me personally, I always try and make sure there will be at least a couple hours of free space on the unit. It seems to me that DVRs I've owned/leased tend to exhibit more issues when they are out of space or almost out of space. May not be related to space when this happens, but something I've just personally noticed.

The reboot shouldn't have happened either. Making a note now to test this out when I get a chance.

Thanks guys. I never had an issue with the Hd-Tivo. I think we probably ran the unit at disk full capacity all the time. If you find anymore info on this please let me know.

I could be completely off-base. It was just something that 'appeared' to be that way a couple times when I was out of or low on space so I just try not to run out. I don't like the receiver choosing what to delete anyways, I prefer to manage it myself.
It has been quite a while, but I think if you start something with the Record button and pick manual stop (where it is going to eventually plow through all your unprotected if not stopped), you will get that warning popup well before you run out of space. You could be watching some prerecorded item when it "gets concerned". Other things could trigger it as well, but I DON'T get the popup when it records something from the timer list with a known end point. Even if the HD is full and I manually click Record, remainder of the NFL game in HD, the receiver silently deletes tons of things as time progresses w/o a popup.
