What good is the Best Buy exclusive if

they aren't shipping any units? Do they not have them to ship? According to both Robert and members who have talked to Beach Audio, there are units sitting in distributor's warehouses waiting to be shipped.

Does BB not have any units in their distribution warehouses? Has D* gotten some exclusive money from BB, and then not supplied the units?

Or is it possible that BB is going to put it in this Sunday's ad and make them available in-stores on Sunday?

If it is D*'s fault that BB didn't get the units in time to sell them exclusively for 10 days, will D* force the other retailers to hold off until BB gets a full 10 days. It would not be the first time D* held off smaller outlets to cater to the big guys.

Very good point!:) I just don't see the advantage to be buying from BB if its going to take just as long as getting it from Value or Beach Audio. Has everyone been duped who bought it from BB thinking that they were going to get it first?:eek2: :) Oh well, I'll just wait for the dust to settle and see who really is shipping and has the best price...:D

Not a single BestBuy store has them in stock in the entire NY/NJ/CT tri-state area last I checked.

Mine arrives tomorrow (confirmed via UPS). I ordered the unit via BestBuy.com Friday. I'd be surprised if they weren't in stores this weekend, but for now the only reliable way to get the units early is via BestBuy.com.

Just looked at BB's site and the only in-store pick-up for the HR20 that I could find was in Atlanta, GA. I could not find it listed as an "in-store" pick-up any where else. Maybe their website is slow in updating inventory.:sure:

Given the importance of the NFL Sunday ticket to DirecTV I'd be suprised if they weren't in most BB stores by the weekend.

I'm in Atlanta and ordered HR20 on BB website for pickup at the Perimeter, GA store.

Just got back from the store with the HR20-700. D* is coming on Saturday, Sept. 9th to install with AT9 (previously scheduled).

No HR20's were on display and the customer counter wasn't sure how many they had received.

I ordered mine through Best Buy this morning, and install is set for tomorrow. I called to verify that I was getting the HR20 and the rep told me that I was scheduled for a 5 LNB dish, which means it is the new DVR. We'll obviously see what happens in the morning...

I called Best Buy first to confirm what I ordered, and was told that when ordering online via Best Buy, it is essentially just a portal...Best Buy has very little to do with it. Wonder if I got screwed by not using the DTV site, because I had to pay sales tax on the BB site.

HR20 is now in stock in many NY area BB stores. I'd pick one up if I hadn't already secured one for over $100 less than they're charging.

The BB website shows Eau Claire, WI 54701 as having them. Only about 3 hours from my house!!

Some BB storess do have them in stores; a cust in GA called in to activate one he purchased in the store when he overheard some of the associates talking about the 5 they had in stock didnt have a choice than to sell it to him

UPDATE: The installer just called and asked if I was aware that he was installing the 5 LNB dish but I was getting the old DVR. I told him I called and asked twice; he says he hasn't seen them yet here.

He's going to come out and install anyway and see about setting up a standard reciever that I can swap out later.

I just found them at the Buckhead (Atlanta), GA location. You have to ask them to look them up because they are not on display yet. There were 5, now there are 4. He said they were just off the truck and had no idea what they were.

I just hope D* shows up with my other one and the AT9 tomorrow so I can see NFL in HD on the locals.

I'm all installed, but it was kind of a hassle.

The installers had never seen one before, and one of them thought they weren't in my area until November. The main installer spent about 90 minutes on the phone with D* in order to change my order (to remove the old HD DVR), while I ran down to Best Buy and picked it up.

Everything is installed and working; I only played with it for a minute before coming to work. The installer did comment that the setup was much faster than he had seen before.

Yes, Best Buy.com....type in schaumburg, naperville, downers grove, and you will see they are available now in store.

Just tried my Zip Code (60477)
Three of the five BestBuys have them available in store

All three of them are the "larger" ones in the area (one is the brand new one that is MASSIVE and has the Manglonia (sp?) section)

Both BB's near me had them listed this morning but when I went to place my order at lunch on the site, only one still had stock. And now there is one there waiting for me!
