les108,
Please post back on how it goes. I am holding off for a bit, but wanting to order. Also curious on how the HD locals are and how many there are, I had heard there were some licensing issues and some got droped so there is only 1 or 2 channels.
Thanks,
Brian

Only ABC and NBC are on the satellite.
Everyone should e-mail Jeff White General Manager of WISHTV Channel 8 at jwhite@wishtv.com and complain as it is the local channels that are draggin their feet.
You should also complain to Fox 59. you can do so here:
http://fox59.trb.com/news/local/wxin-technical-email-story,0,3301299.htmlstory
Please do so, the more feedback they get, the faster the greedy local channels will sign up with D*.

Email sent and posted a message on the web both asking what the plan is to get their local HD feed on DirecTV.
Thanks noneroy for pointing out the info!

If anyone is interested, the Best Buy is showing the HR20 is available at the Castleton store in Indianapolis.
It is not showing it available when I check.

After adding to cart, I selected store pick up and used zip code 46032. It showed Castleton store available.

I used 46038. It is a Magnolia store. I wonder if that is making a difference?

I had no problems ordering this through D* and getting it cheaper than BB. However, if you get it you need to make sure you have the AT9 dish (the big sucker with 5 lnbs). Then you just plug it in and turn it on....and call D* to activate....and complain about the cost and get a credit

really? I have only two lines from my At9 to my receiver, I thought i heard it was four lines?
I am an A lister and had no luck with the 3 CSRs I spoke to except a 100$ credit

Someone a little smarter than me may need to jump in but I believe that it can pick up 5 sats (5lnbs) but only has 4 outputs....

I just got off the phone. I picked up my HR20 at Bestbuy and have an install date of the 12th. The call was a nightmare. I was transferred at least 5 times. I was even transferred to the Spanish speaking line somehow. That was fun considering I haven't spoken Spanish since High School. I got transferred again and asked for a supervisor. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get any specials deals. I've only been with D* for about a year and no special packages. The supervisor did give me 6 months of free HD pack but I think that's somewhat standard. Considering this is pretty much my only option where I live, I'm happy with it. Now I just need the local Fox and CBS to let D* broadcast in HD.

I got one reply back:
Dear Brian,
At the present time Tribune Company, WXIN's corporate parent, is in the
process of negotiating a retransmission agreement with DirecTV. Although I
don't know exactly where things stand in this process, I would hope it will
not be too much longer before an agreement is reached.

I picked up the HR20-700s lasy night in the Indy area. My 5 LNB dish install is scheduled for Thursday (9.14.2006) but I have the unit up and running now. Is anyone else having problems with the Dolby Digital option enabled on HD channels or lip sync issues?
