Still debating Dish - had signed up but cancelled the next day for a variety of reasons. Still not sure just what I want to do etc.
Checking around some I was told that in our area they do have trouble getting decent reception from the one satellite, 129 I think (not sure). Believe the one that transmits the High Def. Anyway I was told that they have been installing two dish 500's in order to make things work alright. Although Dish insists that this is not necessary.

Anyone from Central to North Central Minnesota with dish that can give their opinion or experience with Dish reception.

Was looking foward to the football season and seeing some games in Hi Def.

129 isnt bad here in MN (75-80 on most transponders). The one that carries the Mpls HD channels is at 78-80 on a normal day

I have a Dish1000 about 20 miles North of Duluth and a place in the Twin Cities. Both read about the same :)

I am in the Twin Cities area and not have had any problem with the reception on 129 since I got my DISH 1000 and VIP211 last April other than the occassional rain storm when the dish goes out for a short peroid of time.

I live about 50 miles west of the twin cities and 129 runs about 70-80 all the time. The twin cities locals are bad though around 60 all the time.

I live in Minneapolis and when I first got the Dish 1000 installed I had some problems initially with signal strength from the 129 but after Dish sent someone out who knew what they were doing, everything comes in fine now.

I'm in McGregor but not sure I can help. My daughter had HD in Duluth and it was fine but I believe I'm only on 119 here.

I get the Twin Cities locals and they come in fine.
