View Full Version : Bolt Hole spacing on AT9

Anyone know what the bolt hole spacing is on the AT9 dish?
The reason I ask is my Phase III is currently U Bolted to a pole that runs up the side of my house and that's where I want the AT9 to go as well, in the place of the Phase III. I want to go ahead and get U-Bolts to work with the AT9 just in case the Installer coming on Saturday doesn't have any.
Anyone know? Or does anyone know where I can find maybe a parts diagram with measurements?
I'm talking about the bolt holes on the mount for the Mast.
I took a rough measurement of my mast's mounting plate (that is currently installed), measuring from the bolt head centers. It's *roughly* 5"w X 8"h on center. FWIW, the entire mount plate outside measurements are roughly 6 5/16"w X 8 3/4 "h. Presumably, I have the AT9, the big oval 5 LNB dish since it was just installed yesterday along with my HR20-700.
Hope that helps!

Cool, so 5" U-Bolts should do the trick.
Thanks for the info!

I,m curious to know just how stable this would be, when freestanding in the yard and not supported by a structure. I have an AT9 install coming up this weekend and am frantically hunting for a pole. The U-bolts sound interesting. :)

Well my install went a totally different direction when Mastec told me under no circumstances could they mount it on a pole more than 4 feet in the air.
The wound up spiking a pole in my yard and mounting the dish on top of that by cutting off about 4" from the mast and mounting that to the pole then putting the dish on the pole.
I'm having my AT9 install done on 10/9. I'm in the process of rebuilding my second story deck and whoever built the previous deck had continued the railing along the side of the house instead of ending it at the corner of the house. The extra railing seemed like a waste of money (and time) to me, so I'm going to end the railing at the corner of the house. I've torn out all of the old railing except for the 2x12 trim piece that is bolted to the side of the house and a 4x4 post that's bolted through the 2x12 into the house. The current dish is mounted on that 4x4 post.
I intend to have the AT9 dish mounted onto the 2x12 between two of the bolts and I'll remove the 4x4 post and the rest of the 2x12. Is it worth it to keep the 2x12 that's already bolted to the house or should I remove the 2x12 and have the dish bolted directly into the stucco? It seems that it would be easier to mount it to the 2x12 rather than drilling four more holes into the stucco and it would probably be stronger. Comments/opinions?
