I think i must be the only person with a bad hr20 got it installed thursday was working when i got home but getting call 721 message on screen call cs and they say card has been activated. Tell me to reset. Loads to a blue direct logo screen and stops. I read about new software got it to download and still locks at blue screen. Anyone else havin this problem? Any suggestions installer can't come back till Oct 4th yikes

Oct 4th is way too long for a DOA unit. Call the Office of the President at 888 237-8327 and explain the situation to them and request an earlier visit.

Have they said why they can't just send you a new unit and you send the old one back?

I've seen others post that DTV seems to have a different approach with the HR20 in that they feel the need to roll a truck before replacing units like they did with the R15. They probably don't want to get clobbered by the investors like they did with R15 replacements in the beginning so now they have to send a tech out and all of those are scheduled out a month. That's a great customer service approach.

Wonder if a reformat would help him out? Not sure if the HR20 can do it like the R15 does but maybe it might help.

How do I do a reformat it's killin me not being able to use this thing.

Has anyone tried the reformat on a HR20? I don't have one. Gotcha discovered that when installing a blank drive the HR20 would reformat it automatically.
Anyway, on the R15 you can force a HD reformat by holding a couple of buttons on the front panel down when the unit is booting. But I don't want to suggest that to anyone until it's been proven to work on the HR20. It's one thing to hose my machine but not others.

On hold with presidents office and have been escalated and will be contacted in 24 business hours. Everyone tells me I'm an a list customer and they want to take care of me I asked how hard it is to bring new receiver and plug it in all connections have been done. So frustrating. I got the download by holding rec button and down arrow don't know if that reformats or not.

This is exactly the same issue I have. Only some of the HD channels appear on the guide, and when I select any of them, I get an error 721 - Channel Not Purchased. I spent over an hour on the phone with variou people and they now claim it's a problem with my multiswitch, even though I can see the 119 satellite fine.

I have 5 other receivers that are working fine . including a hughes htl and a series 2 tivo. I know my multiswitch is fine. Damn kids would be all over me if cartoon channels weren't workin

After awhile all the lights go off but blue screen is still on tv. Weird? Wonder if it's hibernating or something
